Library Instruction

Helping students and faculty to effectively use information resources is a major goal of Watson Library. We've designed individual and group activities to help you.

Guided Tours provide an overview of the Library--including floor plan, location and arrangement of materials, and other general information. Tours may be paired with the self-guided tour (see below).  Please contact the library at least a week in advance to schedule a tour.

Self-Guided Tours  allow you to learn to use library resources at your own pace; it may also be used as a student assignment. An exercise accompanies the self-guided tour, enabling "tourists" to get hands-on experience with library resources like the online catalog and electronic databases.

Faculty may request Instruction Sessions focusing on specific research skills, such as research paper techniques and the use of electronic resources.  These sessions can be customized for a specific discipline or assignment.  Please contact us a week in advance to schedule a session.

To schedule a tour or instruction session, call the reference desk at 318 357-4574 or email reference@nsula.edu.
