Located on the 3rd floor of Watson Memorial Library, the Serials and Media Division houses journals, magazines, newspapers, and our media collections. Computer workstations allow quick access to electronic indexes and databases and our online catalog.  Microfilm and fiche reader/printers are available for viewing and printing the various microforms. You'll also find a copy machine in this area.

JOURNALS AND MAGAZINES:
Watson Library subscribes to approximately 2,500 periodicals (magazines, journals, and newspapers), in print and electronic form.

Consult our periodical databases and print indexes to find information in these periodicals. We provide a variety of electronic databases on our home page, and print indexes are in the Reference Department. Current issues of journals and magazines are located in the serials stacks with bound volumes of serials.

To see if we have a journal or magazine, check the online
NSU Journal List, an alphabetical listing of all periodicals in the Library or available online. You'll find the NSU Journals List on the Library home page.  It lists holdings (date, volume and issue numbers) for each serial and identifies the format--current, bound, microfilm, or electronic; those in electronic format include a clickable link.

NEWSPAPERS:
Current issues of newspapers are on open shelving in the serials reading area. Other recent copies (going back 3 months) are under the counters in the serials reading area. Earlier issues of selected titles are on microfilm. Check the online catalog for our newspaper holdings.

MEDIA:
A variety of materials--microfilm, microfiche, videos, CDs, DVDs and equipment for viewing or listening are available in the Serials and Media Division. Here is a list of our DVD and VHS holdings. (Click Here)

You can find microfilm and microfiche stored in cabinets and arranged alphabetically by title. Our staff will get other materials for you. We're available to help you locate materials and use equipment. We also will make paper copies of microfilm or fiche for 15¢ per page.
