 Scope and Content

The bulk of the materials include correspondence to and from Mrs. C. J. (Georgia) McGinty from the Louisiana towns of Keachie, Pineville and Alpha.  These are dated between 1879 and 1889.  There is also one photograph of a young girl with the inscription “From Susie to Nettie” on the back.  Other items include a $10 note dated 1834, a receipt from Farmer’s Gin in Colfax, Louisiana and a certificate given to Maurice A. Phillips in 1927 by Louisiana State University.
