Jake

(Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment)

Jake is a database which contains information about various online periodical indices. Jake can be used in several ways:

  • to determine which online database(s) indexes a particular journal

  • to determine which online database(s) contains full text of a particular journal

  • to expand journal abbreviations (e.g. Engl Hist Rev)

  • to obtain a journal's ISSN

Jake is a tool designed to help you locate the appropriate online database to go to in order to search a particular journal.  You will not be connected directly to any database from Jake.
