Library Instruction Service

Faculty are encouraged to coordinate their assignments with the Shreveport Nursing Library staff so that students receive hands-on orientation to information literacy skills they will need to complete their assignments efficiently and effectively. To schedule a hand-on class on the 24 computers in the library, faculty should contact Dot Fernandez at (318) 677-3008 or 3007 or fernandezd@nsula.edu

To promote information literacy skills, many College of Nursing faculty require their students to complete the award-winning TILT tutorials (information literacy tutorials) at TILT which include these modules: Selecting Information Sources; Searching Library Databases and the Internet; and Evaluating and Citing Information Sources. The TILT tutorials include 3 quizzes that are automatically graded by the TILT software and can be emailed to instructors.
