NATCHITOCHES – The Celebration of Diversity Concert Series will focus on the musical works of Trans and Non-Binary composers in a performance on Tuesday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Varnado Hall ballroom. Admission is free and open to the public.

The program features songs by Yoshi Weinberg, Rossa Crean, Hope Salmonson and Bree Lowdermilk. Students performing include Froy Hernandez, Emilie Comeaux, Brooke Jones, Jaeli Williams, Phoenix Woods and Emma B. Leighton. Faculty member Dan Ley will accompany on piano.

Upcoming concerts in the spring semester include an evening of works by Black composers on February 2 and a concert with repertoire by women composers on March 7.

Guest artist soprano Dr. Liliana Guerrero will perform works by Latinx composers on March 15. The final concert of the series for this academic year on March 21 is a celebration of some of history’s most influential women through music and art.
