Message From the Provost on Fall Courses

Request to Telework:  A “Request to Telework” form has been created to formally receive request from faculty members to teach assigned classes online this fall due to concerns from COVID-19.  This form (attached) allows you to confidentiality make this request through Human Resources.  NO medical documentation should be provided to your immediate Supervisor, Department Head or Dean.  The documentation along with the form should be emailed to Human Resources at covid19hr@nsula.edu or delivered to St. Denis Hall.

The University will follow CDC guidance regarding those employees who may be at an increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19.  The following is a list of conditions that may put people of any age at an increased risk:

  • Chronic kidney disease
  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
  • Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant
  • Obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30 or higher)
  • Serious heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
