NSU Shreveport campus operations will be modified in wake of city-wide water crisis

Shreveport Campus

SHREVEPORT – Due to a transmission water main break impacting the City of Shreveport municipal water system and resulting water-pressure disruptions, Northwestern State University’s Shreveport campus operations will be temporarily modified until further notice.

Faculty and staff will work remotely as directed by and in coordination with their immediate supervisor. Clinical learning experiences will proceed as previously scheduled. Classroom-based instruction will move to virtual/online delivery.

Any in-person examinations and other required assessments (including testing), as well as required laboratory experiences, will be coordinated by course faculty. Students will receive direct communication from their instructors regarding any required on-campus attendance and logistics.

Shreveport officials said the crisis was caused by a break in a 42-inch water main and will take several days to repair.

Administrators will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with faculty, staff and students as information becomes available.
