Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a group tour?

No. We focus entirely on you. At NSU, we personalize every campus visit to fit your specific interests. You will learn about admissions requirements and scholarships, spend time with the academic departments you choose, and take a guided tour of our housing and academic buildings.

Will I be able to see on-campus housing?

Yes. You will get to walk through the showroom spaces at all three of our on-campus housing options: University Place, University Columns, and Varnado Hall.

How much walking is involved?

Walking is minimal. We only ask you to walk when going in and out of buildings. The rest of the tour is conducted in an official, air-conditioned NSU vehicle driven by a Recruiter or Presidential Ambassador.

How long does the tour last?

The length varies because we customize each visit. Most tours take about an hour and a half. If you are meeting with several academic departments or doing an audition, please plan to be here for at least two hours.

Will I receive a school excuse?

Yes. We will gladly give you a signed school excuse to turn in to your high school attendance office.

Should I wait until my senior year to visit?

Please do not wait. Coming to campus during your junior or sophomore year gives you a great head start. Visiting early helps you feel prepared and confident when you eventually take the ACT, submit your applications, and look for scholarships as a senior.
