NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University will host a Louisiana Title IV-E Child Welfare Symposium on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the Friedman Student Union Ballroom.
The symposium brings together child welfare professionals, students, community partners and other stakeholders to focus on issues impacting children and families. This year’s event will also offer an opportunity to recognize and celebrate individuals who are making meaningful contributions to the child welfare field. The theme is “Partners in Purpose.”
Community members or businesses can provide sponsorships to directly support high-quality professional development for Louisiana’s child welfare workforce and strengthen services for children and families across the state.
According to Louisiana Title IV-E Research Associate Dr. Jennifer Shaw, the Louisiana Title IV-E Child Welfare Program plays a vital role in strengthening the future of child welfare across Louisiana by preparing and supporting the professionals who serve children and families during some of their most challenging times.
“Through education, specialized training, professional development and partnerships with child welfare agencies and communities, Title IV-E helps build a knowledgeable, skilled, and committed workforce dedicated to improving outcomes for Louisiana’s children and families,” said Shaw. “By sponsoring the Champions of Child Welfare Symposium, businesses and community partners have an opportunity to invest in the continued development of these professionals and demonstrate their commitment to creating stronger communities and brighter futures for Louisiana’s children.”
Sponsrships are available for in-kind donations and at the diamond ($150), gold ($100), silver ($50) and bronze levels. Bronze sponsors donate door prizes and receive program recognition and are featured on social media acknowledgement. Silver sponsors can also provide door prizes and receive program recognition and social media acknowledgement. Gold sponsors are thanked by having their logo on the symposium program and website, event recognition and the ability to provide promotional items and flyers. Diamond sponsors can have their logo on the symposium program, website, signage at the event and the symposium t-shirt. They can provide table or booth space, provide promotional items in packets for attendees, and receive recognition at the symposium opening and closing.
The symposium is designed to benefit child welfare professionals, DCFS staff and supervisors, social workers and licensed professional counselors, Title IV-E students and graduates, social work faculty and educators, foster care and adoption professionals, CASA volunteers, child advocacy professionals, law enforcement, community service providers, behavioral health professionals and students interested in child welfare careers.
Those attending can receive up to four continuing education units.
