NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University hosted the first-ever Demon Code Wars on Oct. 2, a programming competition designed to challenge and showcase the talents of NSU students. The event was presented through a partnership between the Department of Mathematics and the Computer Information Systems program.

The competition provided students with an opportunity to put their programming, problem-solving, teamwork and critical-thinking skills to the test in a fun and challenging environment.
faculty and staff who helped make the Demon Code Wars a success included Dr. Nicholas Richardson, College of STEM; Dr. Jason Powell, College of Business and Technology, and Justin Dysarz, graduate assistant and network monitor. Organizers hope the event continues to grow and become a tradition at NSU.
