NATCHITOCHES, La. — Northwestern State University’s NSU-TV highlights the student-
focused leadership and vision of Dr. W. Scott Wysong, dean of the College of Business and
Technology.
The feature story, produced for NSU-TV and the Purple Media Network, was reported and
produced by Anastasia Douglas, an NSU-TV reporter and Communications and Business
Administration major at Northwestern State University.
Since becoming dean in January 2026, Wysong has focused on creating new opportunities and
hands-on experiences for students across the college. With more than 25 years of experience in
academia, business and industry, Wysong brings a background focused on connecting education
with real-world experiences.
His plans for CB&T include a new podcast studio in Russell Hall, more interactive classroom
experiences, and the development of a new MBA program. The podcast studio will give students
opportunities to create content, develop communication skills, and explore topics that connect
business with current issues.

Wysong said his goal is to help students connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world
experiences and future careers. He emphasized the importance of internships, professional
opportunities and preparing students for the workforce, saying, “The name of the game is jobs.”
Wysong also hopes to expand student opportunities, improve CB&T facilities, and increase
enrollment over the next five years. His approach centers on making students an active part of
the college’s growth and providing opportunities to gain experience beyond the classroom.
