NSU announces 2025 Homecoming Honor Court

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University has named 22 students to its 2025 Homecoming Honor Court. Members of the court were selected by a vote of the student body. The court will be presented at halftime of the Homecoming football game against East Texas A&M on Saturday, Oct. 4.

 

Peyton Fuller of Deville will be queen of the court and Logan Chadwick of Stanley will be king.

Fuller is a senior biology major with a biomedical concentration and a minor in English. She is the daughter of Shannon Doyle and Steve Fuller. An officer for Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Fuller is vice president of the Purple Jackets Honor Society. She is president of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and was a two-time freshman orientation leader. Fuller was in the President’s Leadership Program and has since been a mentor for the program. She is a member of Order of Omega, Blue Key, Alpha Lambda Delta and Tri Beta honor societies. She was a JOVE Research Scholarship Award recipient.

 

Chadwick is a senior communication major and is the son of April Chadwick Vandagriff and Charles Benton. He is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He is active in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and was a freshman orientation leader. He is a member of Order of Omega Honor Society and National Society of Leadership and Success.

 

Anderson is a junior radiologic sciences major and is the son of Rodney Jermaine Anderson Sr. and Tiffany Nicole Anderson. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the Black Male Alliance serving as treasurer in each organization. Anderson is a member of the Lifted Voices Gospel Choir and the NSU chapter of the NAACP.

 

Ashley is a senior vocal music education major and is the daughter of Kandace Ashley and Phillip Ashley. She is the president of Phi Mu Fraternity and Sigma Alpha Iota. She is a member of the Order of Omega and Purple Jackets honor societies, NSU Choirs, the National Association of Music Education and the Catholic Student Organization. She has been involved in the College Panhellenic Council, NSU Opera Theater and the Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band.

 

Camus is a senior sports and recreation management major. She is the daughter of Gurdon Camus, Lyn Poche and Mickey Poche. Camus is a member of the NSU cheerleading squad, Phi Mu Fraternity and the Purple Jackets and Order of Omega honor societies. She has been active in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, Human Performance Leadership Club, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, the University Programming Council and the Presidential Leadership Program. Camus was the 2024 and 2025 Outstanding Sports Recreation and Management student.

 

Hardy is a senior social work major and is the daughter of Jay and Deanna Hardy. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, the College Panhellenic Council and the Purple Jackets Honor Society. Hardy is student coordinator of the NSU Student Food Pantry. She was a two-time freshman orientation leader and is serving as their current student coordinator. She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Demon Volunteers in Progress and is a President’s Leadership Program mentor.

 

Johnson is a health and exercise science/pre-physical therapy major and the son of Carlton Johnson Sr. and Latoniya Johnson. He is president of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. He is a member of the African American Caucus and the Human Performance Leadership Club.

 

Jordan is a junior nursing major and is the son of Michelle and Travis Jordan. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the Student Nurses Association and serves as a senator for the Student Government Association.

 

Juneau is a senior veterinary technology major and the son of Allison and Brian Juneau. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the Interfraternity Council and the Order of Omega and Blue Key honor societies. Juneau works in the Office of First Year Experience and is active in the Student Government Association. He is also a student coordinator for Demon Volunteers in Progress.

 

Laurent is a junior biology/pre-med major and is the son of Tracy Laurent and Travis Laurent. He is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and serves as the vice president. He is a member of the Order of Omega and Blue Key honor societies where he serves as treasurer. Laurent is a coordinator of the Demon Volunteers in Progress program and is a past freshman orientation leader. He is also a member of the Catholic Student Organization, Alpha Lambda Delta and Tri Beta Biological Honor Society.

 

Long is a senior biology/pre-med major and is the daughter of Jennifer Upton and Ronnie Long. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and the Purple Jackets Honor Society. Long is active in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, Alpha Lambda Delta. She was a past freshman connector and is student coordinator for Demon Volunteers in Progress.

 

Martinez is a junior secondary education major and is the daughter of Jerry and Mandy Martinez. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and the Purple Jackets Honor Society. Martinez has been on the Purple Pizzazz Pom Line and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and was a freshman orientation leader.

 

Pollard is a senior social work major and is the daughter of Craig and Alyea Pollard. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and serves as Speaker of the Senate in the Student Government Association. Pollard is active in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and was a freshman orientation leader. She is a member of the Purple Jacket and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies and Demon Volunteers in Progress.

 

Richard is a senior strategic communication major and is the son of Nadine and Chris Richard. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity where he serves as chapter president and the Order of Omega and the Blue Key honor societies. Richard was a freshman orientation leader, a member of Demon Volunteers in Progress and was in the President’s Leadership Program.

 

Straight is a senior communication major and is the daughter of Timmy and Neysa Straight. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and the College Panhellenic Council. Straight is a member of the Order of Omega, Purple Jackets and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies and was a freshman orientation leader. She is active in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and assists at the NSU Student Food Pantry. Straight was in the President’s Leadership Program and is a member of Demon Volunteers in Progress.

 

Stroope is a junior business administration major and is the son of Brandi Stroope and Chris Stroope. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order serving as president. Stroope was in the President’s Leadership Program and was a mentor for the program. He is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Demon Volunteers in Progress.

 

Thomas is a senior communication major with a biology minor. He is the son of Colleen Perniciaro and Brad Thomas. Thomas is captain of the NSU cheerleading squad and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. He was also a member of the President’s Leadership Program and served as a Demon Volunteer in Progress.

 

Ugokwe is a junior nursing major and is the son of Amaka Ugokwe and Charles Ugokwe. He is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, the Order of Omega and Blue Key honor societies. Ugokwe is active in the Catholic Student Organization and Demon Volunteers in Progress.

 

Vernon is a senior biology/pre-med major with a dance minor and is the daughter of Lawrence and Latisha Vernon. She is a president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and captain of the Purple Pizzazz Pom Line. Vernon is a member of the Purple Jackets and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies and Demon Volunteers in Progress.

 

Williams is a junior health and exercise major and is the son of Brandy Batiste and Keiland Williams. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the Order of Omega Honor Society. Williams is active in the Student Government Association and is a member of the Black Male Alliance and the NSU Ambassadors.

 

Woodard is a senior health and exercise science/pre-physical therapy major and is the daughter of Janet Woodard and Arthur Woodard. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, the Order of Omega and Purple Jackets honor societies, the African American Caucus and the Human Performance Leadership Club. She is Student Government Association treasurer.

 

Zeringue is a junior social work major and the daughter of Kimberly Zeringue and Glenn Zeringue. She is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and is the Catholic Student Organization, and Demon Volunteers in Progress. She is active in the University Programming Council.
