NSU Office of Economic Development and University Advancement invites entrepreneurs to Food Truck Workshop, Natchitoches Startup Weekend

NATCHITOCHES – Interested in launching a food truck business? Or perhaps you’ve started and need help getting off the ground? Join a Food Truck Workshop set for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at NSU’s Office of Alumni and Development, 520 University Parkway, Natchitoches.

The event is free of charge and sponsored by NSU’s Office of Economic Development and University Advancement in partnership with the Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP).

This workshop will provide a comprehensive guidance on starting and running a successful food truck, from concept to launch. Participants will hear directly from local experts Daryl “Sweetie” Walker and Trisha Walker of Sweetie’s Bar-B-Q & Blues House, and gain valuable insights into planning, licensing, marketing and day-to-day operations.

The Natchitoches Startup Weekend will be 12:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 and 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 in Varnado Hall Ballroom, 541 University Parkway. Admission is free to attend.

This hands-on event is an opportunity for those with a business idea or thinking about a business  to bring ideas, practice a pitch, gain valuable feedback and build confidence to take concepts to the next level. It’s the perfect chance to polish business ideas and connect with others in the community. Participants will pitch business ideas at the end of the workshop for a chance to win a $100 VISA gift card. This opportunity is available to students as a way to sharpen pitch skills in time for NSU’s Inferno Pitch.
