Spirit of Northwestern
The Spirit of Northwestern (SON) Marching Band has a long and storied history that gives it its title of The Best Soundin’ Band in the Land. Since 1983, the ensemble has enjoyed tremendous support from the faculty, staff, and administration on the Natchitoches campus. Additionally, the Natchitoches community has supported the ensemble and its membership through highly visible support at its performances and in the background through corporate partnerships.

Purple Haze Basketball Pep Band
The Purple Haze Basketball Pep Band is also revered as an entity by providing entertainment and home-court advantage for men and women’s basketball games.
