Through our Win-Win Project, the NSU Registrar’s Office will perform a degree audit to see if a student (or former student) has accumulated enough requirements to graduate with an Associate Degree.
The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), an educational association founded in 1974 to promote the acceptance of the awarding of college credit for experiential learning, has led the way in developing and implementing assessment techniques. NSU uses the academic guidelines developed by CAEL and the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in awarding credit. Northwestern State University (NSU) is among more than 500 colleges and universities that are involved in assessing students’ prior learning for academic credit.
Continuing Education presents an opportunity to pursue formal learning opportunities that are not focused on a degree outcome. Continuing Education provides professional and community enrichment by delivering innovative, quality education and support services to learners in pursuit of lifelong learning, professional development, or career advancement.
Northwestern State University offers high school students a head start on their college careers through two dual enrollment pathways: deNSU Early College Access and deNSU Fast Forward. These programs allow eligible 10th–12th graders to enroll in college-level courses—earning credit toward both high school and postsecondary transcripts.
At Northwestern State University (NSU), we believe learning doesn’t stop at graduation. Our professional development programs are designed to help working professionals, educators, and community leaders expand their skills, earn credentials, and advance in their careers. Whether you are seeking continuing education, industry certifications, or customized training, NSU offers flexible options that fit your goals.
