NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will present Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy People on Monday June 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The class will be taught via Zoom and is for those 13 and up. The fee is $85.

In just a few hours, participants can learn enough about playing the guitar to give them years of musical enjoyment. This crash course will teach some basic chords and get students playing right away.  Those taking the class can sit at home and learn in a relaxed environment. The class includes an online book and online follow-up video lessons which allows participants to continue practice and study on their own. An optional periodic online question and answer session and recording of the class is also included.

Topics to be covered include how chords work in a song, how to form the three main types of chords and how to tune your guitar. The class will also cover basic strumming patterns, how to buy a good guitar and things to avoid and how to play along with simple tunes
