NATCHITOCHES – Two faculty members from Northwestern State University’s College of Nursing and School of Allied Health have been selected to serve in prestigious roles supporting national accreditation efforts in nursing and allied health education.

Dr. Aimee Badeaux, dean of the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health, has been selected to participate in the 2025 Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Evaluator Training Program. She will complete the intensive training June 26–27 in Alexandria, Virginia, joining a distinguished group of nurse educators and practitioners from across the country who support quality assurance in baccalaureate and graduate-level nursing education.

“Being selected for the CCNE Evaluator Training Program is both an honor and a responsibility,” said Badeaux. “This experience strengthens my own professional practice while reinforcing Northwestern State University’s commitment to excellence and leadership in nursing education at the highest level.”

Joining her in representing NSU on the national stage is Dr. Larry Arant, assistant professor in the Department of Radiologic Sciences, who was recently selected as a site visitor for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). As part of the role, Arant will complete a comprehensive eLearning training program followed by participation in scheduled site visits to evaluate radiologic technology programs across the country.

“Dr. Arant’s selection as a JRCERT site visitor reflects his outstanding professional expertise and his commitment to ensuring high standards in allied health education,” said Badeaux. “It’s exciting to see our faculty leading and contributing to accreditation processes that shape the future of health care education.”

Service as a site evaluator for national accrediting agencies is a significant professional achievement that reflects both the qualifications of the individual and the strength of the programs they represent. The appointments of Badeaux and Arant underscore Northwestern State’s continued impact on advancing health professions education and accreditation at the national level.
