NATCHITOCHES – High school juniors are invited to the Work Natchitoches Summit that will highlight career opportunities in five key industries in the region: healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, education and entrepreneurship.
The Work Natchitoches Summit will be hosted by Northwestern State University’s Office of Economic Development and the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce in the NSU Student Union from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15.
This year’s event has been redesigned into a focused, one-day experience that creates meaningful engagement between employers and high school juniors. Each employer is required to provide a hands-on activity, giving students the opportunity to actively participate and gain a real-world look at what a day in that role can be like. The format will give students a clearer understanding of the wide range of career paths available locally.
Students can also explore degree programs in nursing and allied health, hospitality management and tourism, culinary arts, engineering technology, manufacturing, education and other paths.
