Proud To Be Purple

NSU encourages friends and supporters to show their NSU colors

NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State University family is proud to be purple and invites you to join the Proud to be Purple movement sweeping the community.

“This initiative is all about boosting school spirit and strengthening community partnerships through visual displays of support for NSU,” said Amy Lee, director of Marketing and Branding. “Our goal is to turn Natchitoches and beyond purple and celebrate our Demon pride in a way that engages students, faculty, alumni and the greater community.”

NSU has developed a variety of branded flags, window decals, yard signs and more that will be distributed to local businesses. Students, student-athletes and volunteers will distribute the items Wednesday, July 30 and hold giveaways through social media.

Northwestern State Move-In Day is Saturday, Aug. 16, with classes starting Monday, Aug. 18.  Administrators hope to see the city of Natchitoches decked out in purple to welcome students and their families back to Natchitoches for the semester.
