Welcome to Northwestern State University! We’re excited to have you as a member of our community and can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish this year.
As you consider engagement in one or more of the opportunities available to NSU students – including Recognized Student Organizations, performance groups, athletic teams, club sports, intramural teams, and other activities, it’s important that you understand our expectations for safe and respectful participation in campus life.
In recent years, the Louisiana Legislature has taken significant steps to address the dangers of hazing in college settings and strengthen state law by clearly defining hazing, penalties, and required education and prevention efforts. In compliance with Act 309 of the 2026 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature, known as the Caleb Wilson Hazing Prevention Act, and the 2026 Louisiana Board of Regents Uniform Policy on Hazing, Northwestern State University reaffirms its policy – which states hazing in any form is strictly prohibited. Violations of this policy can result in both disciplinary actions by the university as well as criminal charges under state law. As part of our commitment to student safety, health, and wellbeing, students involved in extra-curricular activities must complete the following training through our online platform, Vector Solutions. These short courses are designed to help you become familiar with important campus resources and university expectations.
You should have received an email from Vector LMS with access to your required training:
- Hazing Prevention Training (Custom)
- Hazing Awareness and Prevention for Students (Full Course)
- Bystander Intervention: Alcohol and Substance Misuse (Full Course)
- RespectEdu Foundations for College (Full Course)
The email will reference Northwestern State University and Vector LMS. It will include your NSU email address and a blue button labeled, “Go to your training,” will direct you to the official training portal. The message will list your required courses and completion status.
DEADLINE: Monday, September 14, 2026 | 4:30 p.m.
