We understand that circumstances may arise requiring a student to leave the University. If you find it necessary to withdraw, it is essential that you complete the official Resignation/Cancellation Form to protect your academic record and avoid unnecessary financial or academic penalties. Please review the following guidelines carefully:
- Cancel Early if Necessary
If you decide not to attend, you are responsible for cancelling your registration before the first day of classes for a fall or spring term, or no later than the second day of classes for a summer session—especially if financial arrangements have not been finalized.
- Non-Payment Does Not Cancel Enrollment
Failure to cancel your registration in accordance with the University’s refund schedule will result in a financial obligation for your courses. Classes are not automatically dropped due to non-payment or failure to attend.
- Dropping All Classes Requires Formal Resignation
If you plan to drop all your courses, you must officially resign from the University. Students are not permitted to drop their last class via NSUConnect.
- How to Resign or Cancel Registration
To initiate your resignation:
-
- Visit the Office of the Registrar in person, or
- Download the Resignation/Cancellation Form from the University Registrar’s website: www.nsula.edu/registrar
- Complete, sign, and date the form, then submit it via one of the following methods:
- Fax: (318) 357-5823
- Email: Scan and send as a PDF attachment to registrar@nsula.edu
- Alternate Submission Option
If you do not have internet access or are unable to come to campus, you may fax a signed letter of resignation to the Office of the Registrar at (318) 357-5823.
- Deadline for Resignation with “W” Grades
Students may resign with grades of “W” up to the deadline listed in the official University academic calendar. After this date, additional academic consequences may apply.
- Failure to Officially Resign Has Consequences
Students who leave the University without submitting the official Resignation/Cancellation Form will receive grades of “F” or “WN” in all registered courses and will be charged all associated fees.
