At Northwestern State University, Demon spirit comes alive through the talented students who represent NSU with pride at every game, performance, and event. From the high-energy stunts of the NSU Cheerleaders and the precision of the Purple Pizzazz Pom Line to the flair of the Demon Dazzlers, the beat of the Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band, and the color guard artistry of the Demon Heat Flag Line, our spirit groups embody the passion and tradition that make NSU home. Cheerleading
Fueling Demon Pride, one stunt at a time.
NSU Cheerleaders are more than athletes—they are ambassadors of school pride. From game day stunts to national competitions, the team showcases strength, precision, and unwavering Demon spirit.
The NSU Cheerleaders are the driving force behind game day energy at Northwestern State University, serving as proud ambassadors of Demon spirit both on and off the field. Combining athleticism, precision, and showmanship, the squad performs high-flying stunts, tumbling, and crowd-pumping routines at every home football and basketball game, all while representing NSU on the national stage. The team has earned back-to-back UCA/UDA College Nationals titles and University World Cup Championships, cementing its reputation as one of the top programs in the country. Beyond competition, NSU Cheerleaders serve as role models and community representatives, embodying the strength, spirit, and pride that defines the Demon family.
All members receive a scholarship, but must enroll in the varsity dance and pep band classes as well as maintain a 2.0 semester and cumulative GPA.

Purple Pizzaz Pom Line
SPIRIT. STRENGTH. SOLIDARITY.
The Purple Pizzazz Pom Line is the official spirit hostess of Northwestern State University who loves performing and showcasing their spirit for the NSU Demons.
Since 1969, the Purple Pizzazz Pom Line has loved the tradition of showing their spirit for purple and white, cheering on the Demons, and serving as a representative of Northwestern State University. We are an elite team of entertaining and strong performers with collegiate professionalism. As a member of the pom line, there are many benefits such as performances at all home basketball and football games as well as conference baseball games, opportunities for campus and community service, involvement on campus, and more.

DEMON DAZZLERS
Known for flair and personality, the Demon Dazzlers combines spirit, dance, and showmanship to create unforgettable performances. This group represents NSU at athletic events, pep rallies, and special appearances.
Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band
The Spirit of Northwestern is more than a marching band—it’s the sound of Demon pride. From powerful halftime shows to dynamic performances at community and national events, the band inspires energy, tradition, and school spirit with every note.
Northwestern State Cheer Camp
Northwestern’s Cheer and Dance Camps are traditionally one of the best around. We have a great time and offer everyone that “personalized” Northwestern Spirit!!! We have a wonderful campus, a warm, friendly atmosphere and a dedicated student staff. All of this will make up a successful and FUN time for you and your team. *Please note that once your registration is received through varsity, you will receive a confirmation letter via email for the camp from NSU. If you register through NSU, be sure to send the registration form fully completed in order to properly register your team. Invoicing will be e-mailed out in the beginning of April.
All forms must be completed by each participant and sponsor and submitted by registration the first day of camp. They may also be submitted prior to.
