Leaving Northwestern State University?
Before you depart from Northwestern State University, please complete the items below. We encourage you to take care of these tasks as soon as possible, especially if you have received notice that your university account access will soon expire.
Information Technology Services
Transfer all personal files and content from your Northwestern State University email, Teams account, and OneDrive to a personal storage service and/or device to ensure continued access after your departure.
Ensure that all course-related and research materials are properly archived and retained as needed.
Forward any emails you wish to retain to your personal email account and notify personal contacts of your updated email address. Northwestern State University does not provide continued access to university email services following graduation or departure from the university.
Update the email address associated with any third-party applications or services currently linked to your Northwestern State University email account to prevent interruptions in access.
Review your Northwestern State University mailing list subscriptions. Unsubscribe from lists you no longer wish to receive and update any desired subscriptions using your personal email address.
Below is a summary of the technology services and resources that will remain available to you for up to two years following your departure from Northwestern State University, as well as those for which access will be discontinued immediately.

Update your Permanent Address: Update the permanent address associated with your Northwestern State University account to prevent interruptions in postal correspondence.
Career Center
Handshake can be used to search for employment opportunities, connect with employers, and access Career Center resources even as an Alumni. To maintain access to your Handshake account, update your account to include a personal email address.
Graduating seniors are encouraged to complete the First Destination Survey (FDS) to share their post-graduation plans, including employment, graduate school, military service, continuing their job search, or other pursuits. This brief 2–3 minute survey helps NSU better understand and report graduate outcomes, supports continuous program improvement, and highlights the success of NSU graduates. To complete the survey, click the button below and log in to your Handshake account when prompted.
