All NSU students are encouraged to get involved. Opportunities include:

  • Running for an elected office during student elections
  • Applying for appointed positions within committees
  • Attending open meetings to share input and stay informed

SGA ELECTIONS

FALL 2026 | HOMECOMING AND MR/MISS NSU NOMINATIONS | Nomination forms due by September 16, 2026

This form is to officially nominate students for Homecoming Honor Court and Mr. & Miss Northwestern State University. Organizations nominating MUST be certified 100% through the Department of Student Engagement for this nomination form to count.

HOMECOMING HONOR COURT & MR. AND MISS NSU NOMINATIONS ARE SEPARATE HONORS.

  • Each Recognized Student Organization can nominate up to four (4) female and four (4) male students for Homecoming Honor Court and one (1) male and one (1) female student for Mr. and Miss Northwestern State University. ​
  • Only those students receiving the minimum number of nominations from certified Recognized Student Organizations AND meeting the nomination criteria will be placed on the Student Body Election ballot.
  • Those students receiving eligible nominations and meeting all necessary requirements will be contacted.
  • The list of nominees will be shared on Student Messenger and social media.
  • Only RSO Presidents may submit nominations for Homecoming Honor Court and Mr. and Miss NSU. The Student Government Association and University Programming Council may not nominate for Homecoming Honor Court or Mr. and Miss NSU.

HOMECOMING HONOR COURT Students must meet the following requirements to be placed on the ballot: • Full-time (12hs) enrollment at Northwestern State University • Junior or Senior, as defined by the University Catalog, in good standing with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA • Must receive 4 nominations from certified Recognized Student Organizations • Must not have previously served as King or Queen

MR. & MISS NSU Students must meet the following requirements to be placed on the ballot: • Full-time (12hs) enrollment at Northwestern State University • Senior, as defined by the University Catalog, in good standing with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA • Must receive 5 nominations from certified Recognized Student Organizations • Must not have previously served as Mr. or Miss NSU

ONLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Be sure to have the following before you submit the form:

  1. Nominee’s legal name (no nicknames)
  2. Nominee’s NSU email

** FORMS ARE DUE: by September 16 2026.* Organizations must be certified by this deadline for nominations to be valid.
