Jolie Fontenot of Youngsville, a biology/microbiology student in the Louisiana Scholars’ College, shared research, “A Bioinformatic Investigation of Mutations in AR: Identifying Trends in Location and Disease Phenotype” during Northwestern State University’s 39th annual Research Day. Fontenot studies the androgen receptor (AR) gene, a nuclear transcription factor within the family of steroid hormone receptors. Dr. Robert Page is faculty mentor.
