NSU offering Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification Prep Course online

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University is offering Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification Prep Course, a comprehensive four-week self-paced training to prepare individuals for the FAA Remote Pilot Certification Exam.

Students will learn the legal and ethical considerations for remote pilots, drone operational safety and risk management, airspace classifications and restrictions and aviation weather essentials.  The course also addresses basics of aeronautical decision making (ADM), ground crew responsibilities, reading and interpreting sectional charts and introduction to the National Airspace System (NAS).

Instructors are JD Cox, Adelaide Soileau and Travis Mitchell, NSU ARGO (Advanced Remote and Geospatial Operations) Lab personnel.

“With the rapid growth of drone technology across industries such as agriculture, construction, public safety and infrastructure, this course provides valuable workforce-ready skills for both individuals and employers,” Cox said.

The cost is $250.
