Facilities & Plant Operations administers Public Works projects in accordance with Louisiana Public Bid Law (R.S. 38:2211–2296). Public Works includes the construction, renovation, alteration, improvement, and repair of university facilities and infrastructure. Planning a Construction, Renovation, or Major Repair Project?
To request a construction project on campus, departments must submit a Campus Construction Work Request Form to Facilities & Plant Operations for review and approval prior to initiating the project. This process ensures that all proposed work is properly evaluated, coordinated, and completed in accordance with University standards, applicable codes, and State of Louisiana requirements.
Upon receipt, Facilities & Plant Operations will review the proposed project to determine the appropriate course of action based on the scope, complexity, estimated cost, and potential impact to campus operations.
Projects may not proceed until all required reviews and approvals have been completed by Facilities & Plant Operations and any other applicable University or State entities. This process helps ensure projects are properly planned, safely executed, and compliant with all regulatory and institutional requirements.
