Northwestern State University’s eNSU offers 40+ fully online degree programs designed for flexibility, affordability, and career readiness. From associate to doctoral levels, students can earn respected degrees without ever stepping on campus.
Admission to eNSU is simple and student-focused. Applicants must complete an online application, submit official transcripts, and meet NSU’s general admission standards. Additional requirements may apply for certain programs, such as standardized test scores or prerequisite coursework.
In accordance with Federal Regulations (34 CFR §668.43) for Northwestern State University to offer online courses and programs in states other than Louisiana, the University has to obtain approval/exemption/licensure in each state. The university has to show the U.S. Department of Education that the college has made a “good faith” effort to obtain approval in each state it offers online classes.
If you are a current student, live in Louisiana, in the military, or otherwise physically live in another country or in one of the authorized states you can take online courses from Northwestern State University. Northwestern State University is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA) which allows the university to offer online programs to residents of states other than Louisiana.
You will need to read your syllabus. Some classes do require you come to campus for midterm & final exams. Most will allow you to have it proctored at a local University or testing center as well.
It varies from course to course – most of the distance delivered courses are taught in Moodle. Tools used include narrated Powerpoint lectures, discussion boards, blogs, webinars, group projects, etc. And of course, the professor is always available via email.
Most distance courses involve a combination of online lectures, reading course content and referring to textbooks. Additional activities may include online class meetings via WebEx, writing term papers, writing essays, and responding to questions posed on discussion boards.
