Know Before You Go

What to Expect

During Freshman Connection, you will be placed in a small group with a Connector, who will guide you throughout your orientation program. Your Connector will be a current Northwestern State student who will share valuable information about what you can expect at NSU and will offer support and guidance about the high school to college transition. Here’s what you can expect at Freshman Connection:

  • Small group sessions with your Connectors
  • Opportunities to connect with future classmates
  • An introduction to NSU student services and involvement opportunities
  • Familiarize yourself with campus
  • Meet with an academic advisor who will help you understand your major, schedule of classes, and register for the fall semester
Refund Policy

Because most expenses occur before Freshman Connection begins, orientation fees are non-refundable. All new students are expected to be familiar with the admissions requirements in effect for Fall 2026 at Northwestern State University.
