NATCHITOCHES – Registration is open for Art Camp at Northwestern State University.  There will be two sessions for children, “Robots Everywhere!” and “Pirates and Sea Creatures” for children ages 5-11 and Advanced Projects for Teens for 12-18-year-olds.

“Robots Everywhere” will be June 3-7.  Students will revisit classical works of art with a robot twist and do projects with all kids’ favorite robots, creating art reproductions in a playful style they will love to hand on a wall.

“Pirates and Sea Creatures” will be June 10-14 and will include pirates, mermaids and all things salty and swashbuckling.  Students will study boats and sea creatures both real and imagined and make projects for the ocean adventurer of kids’ dreams.

Advanced Projects for Teens will be Jun 17-21.  This week is designed for older students looking to learn advanced art skills.  Students will work on larger projects throughout the week and choose from among laser engraver/cutter, 3D printing, painting, carving, printmaking and more.  The projects will be taught by two NSU art professors similar to project taught in classes at NSU.

All sessions run from 1o-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.  Camp begins each day in Room 205 of the Art Department in the New Fine Arts Building, 140 Central Ave.  Drop off is between 12:30-1 p.m. and pick is between 5-5:30 p.m.

Tuition is $180 for each weeklong session, which includes a snack and all art materials.  A sibling discount of $10 per sibling is available.  A $10 discount is available for attending two or more sessions.  A $10 discount is also available for children and grandchildren of NSU employees with a copy of the NSU ID.  Only one discount per child.
