NATCHITOCHES – A faculty member from Northwestern State University’s School of Education has been selected to serve on a national site review team in educator preparation accreditation.
Dr. Dylan G. Solice serves the School of Education as an assistant professor of Education, Educational Leadership program coordinator, and CAEP Coordinator. He has been selected to serve as a site review team member for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
He completed the intensive training last summer, joining a distinguished group of educator practitioners from across the nation who support quality assurance and continuous improvement in initial and advanced educator certification programs to strengthen P-12 student learning.
“Being selected to serve on a CAEP site review team is both an honor and a learning privilege,” said Solice. “This experience strengthens my own professional understanding and practice on behalf of NSU and the School of Education as we, too, are a CAEP accredited EPP undergoing re-accreditation in Fall 2025.”
Service as a site reviewer for national accrediting agencies is a significant professional achievement that reflects both the qualifications of the individual and the strength of the programs they represent. The appointment of Solice highlights Northwestern State’s continued impact on advancing educator preparation and accreditation at the national level, according to Dr. April Giddens, interim director of NSU’s School of Education.
“Serving on a CAEP site review team is a tremendous honor and an outstanding reflection of Dr. Solice’s dedication, expertise and leadership within the field of educator preparation,” Giddens said. “This selection not only affirms Dr. Solice’s professional contributions but also highlights NSU’s ongoing commitment to excellence.”
