On-campus residential accommodations at Northwestern State University are comprised of three communities (villages), University Columns, University Place and Varnado Hall Residential College for Creative and Performing Arts.

Properties are managed by the University’s housing partner, Campus Living Villages.

Housing for Fall 2022-Spring 2023

Applications for Fall 2022 are now closed.

Qualifications for students to reside on campus:

  • A minimum 2.0 GPA from the prior semester
  • A $0 balance for the 21/22 Academic Year and no prior balances
  • Registered for Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 classes

New students will log into the application portal via nsula.edu to complete the housing application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.

Returning students will log into their myNSU account to complete the housing application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.

Applications are not received or processed until the non-refundable application fee is paid.

Housing Applications to reside on campus for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters will go live on Wednesday, January, 12th at 9am.

  • New students will log into the application portal via nsula.edu to complete the housing application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.
  • Returning students will log into their myNSU account to complete the housing application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.

  • Qualifications for returning students to reside on campus for the Fall 22 semester (Must meet all qualifications by May 15, 2022):
    • A minimum 2.0 GPA for the Spring 22 or Summer 22 Semester
    • A $0 balance for the 21/22 Academic Year and no prior balances
    • Pre-registered for Fall 2022 classes

Fall 2022 Move In Information

We are so excited that YOU will be joining us on campus this fall! Move In Day is quickly approaching and the entire NSU and University Housing teams are preparing for your arrival on campus in the Fall. As we prepare for your arrival, we need your help to ensure an efficient move in process, as we are so excited to welcome you back on campus soon!

Move In will occur Friday, August 12th and Saturday, August 13th. Below you will find the available check in dates and times for your arrival on campus. Take some time and sign up for one of the available times.

Students that have an approved Early Arrival date and time, as a part of a university Special Interest Group, will have their move in date and time communicated to them via their group director, sponsor, professor, etc. If you have any questions about this process, please contact University Housing or your group director.

  • Secured your check in time by registering for one of the available times above.
  • Completed the required forms sent to you prior to arriving for check in. This will help avoid delays at check in.

Living Learning Communities & Special Interest Housing

NSU Living – Learning Communities (LLCs) are great places to begin and continue your college career! The LLCs are located in residence halls where students request to live near each other. They share a particular interest in academics, social and cultural issues and activities.

$100 Reservation Fee – will be placed on your NSU Account

4 Bedroom – $150 – Non-refundable application fee, due at time of application.

Shared Efficiency – $150 – Non-refundable application fee, due at time of application.

University Place

Private – $150 – Non-refundable application fee, due at time of application.
$100 Reservation Fee – will be placed on your NSU Account

Shared – $150 – Non-refundable application fee, due at time of application.

Varnado Hall

Double – $150 – Non-refundable application fee, due at time of application.
