NATCHITOCHES – A new choral group, the Cane River Singers, is being formed this fall at Northwestern State University.

The Cane River Singers is open to any NSU student, faculty member or Natchitoches resident. Rehearsals begin Monday, Sept. 9 and will held on Mondays from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the choral rehearsal room in the Fine Arts Annex. The choir will spend the first semester learning new music then will begin performing concerts and possibly collaborating with NSU ensembles.

Students will be required to register for Music 1420, “University Singers.” Faculty and local residents will need to pay for their music scores and a binder.
