Ceramics class to begin July 7

NATCHITOCHES – A beginning ceramics class, “Playing in the Mud,” will be offered through Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic and Continuing Education starting Thursday, July 7. The class will be offered on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. through August 11 in Room 113 of the Fine Arts Annex.

Painting class to be held July 7 and 28

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic and Continuing Education will offer a Pick Up Your Brush painting class on July 7 and 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of South Hall. The fee is $45 per session. Each class is a separate session.

High school trumpet students participate in week of masterclasses

NATCHITOCHES – High school trumpet students from Louisiana and Texas recently participated in daily masterclasses and ensemble rehearsals culminating in a performance at Northwestern State University. NATCHITOCHES – Dr. Mary Edith Stacy has been named dean of the College of Business and Technology at Northwestern State University. Her appointment has been approved by the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System. Stacy has been interim dean since October 2021.

Scroggs selected as first runner-up at Miss Louisiana Competition

NATCHITOCHES – Miss Northwestern – Lady of the Bracelet Makenzie Scroggs was first runner-up at the past weekend’s Miss Louisiana Competition in Monroe. Former Miss Northwestern-Lady of the Bracelet and alumna Jourdan Waddell, Miss Belle of the Darbonne, was second runner-up.
