NATCHITOCHES – The Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts at Northwestern State University will present its annual Faculty Showcase on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. A livestream will be available at nsula.edu/capa/capalivestream. 

The program will be “Serenade No, 1, Op. 1” by Vincent Persichetti featuring Stephen Clark on flute, Leah Forsyth on oboe, Paul Forsyth on soprano saxophone, Douglas Bakenhus on bassoon, Alexis Sczepanik on horn, Josias Revolledo on horn, Galindo Rodriguez on trumpet, J. Mark Thompson on bass trombone and Masahito Kuroda on tuba with Anthony Pursell conducting, “Invocation for Cello Solo” by Mel Powel featuring Paul Christopher on cello, “Passacaglia” by G. F. Handel & J. Halvorsen with Dr. Andrej Kurti on violin and Sofia Tchetchelashvili on viola and a work featuring Luke Brouillette on guitar. 

The Faculty Showcase will also include “Rondo” (from Three Duets for Violin & Bassoon) by Niccolò Paganini arranged by Adam Hudlow with Leah Forsyth on oboe and Paul Forsyth on saxophone, “Nocturnal” by Luis Humberto Salgado featuring Francis Yang on piano, “Duo for Violoncello and Double Bass in D major” by Gioachino Rossini with Christopher and Karla Gonzalez Bueno on double bass and an original composition, “Suite for timpani and electronics” by Andrew Blair featuring Blair on timpani.
