NATCHITOCHES – The 2022 Caddo Conference will be held on the Northwestern State University campus April 1-3. Archaeologists, ethnologists, historians and members of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, whose tribal homeland is southwest Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma, northwest Louisiana and East Texas, will gather to discuss ongoing research and cultural developments in Caddo culture.

NATCHITOCHES – All Northwestern State University campuses will be close Tuesday, March 22 due to severe weather conditions.

Earline Hart Andrews, NSU’s oldest graduate, has died at age 111

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s oldest graduate has died.  Earline Hart Andrews, 111, died Wednesday, March 16.  Andrews graduated from Louisiana Normal, as NSU was then known, in 1931, and spent 43 years teaching in Texas before retiring in 1975.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

NATCHITOCHES – A Northwestern State University family recognized a loved one by creating a scholarship that will awarded to an upper-level student in the radiologic sciences. The Wilma Ortigo Reich Scholarship was created by NSU Director of Photographic Services Chris Reich and his father Lewis Reich. Mrs. Reich passed away in 2018.
