All Northwestern State University campuses will remain closed and classes cancelled on Thursday and Friday because of dangerous conditions created by Tropical Storm Harvey.
Although clearing is expected late Thursday and into Friday, flooding remains a problem across the region. Please continue to exercise caution when traveling in areas of Louisiana and Texas that have been affected by heavy rains and flooding.
Housing, dining facilities, University Police and other essential services will continue on the main campus at Natchitoches during times when the university is closed.
Additionally, the final day to register, add courses, and make section changes has been extended to Wednesday, September 6th. Students are encouraged to contact their academic advisor or department head before making schedule changes.
Updates on weather conditions, campus closures and other information will be provided on the university’s website and Purple Alert, which can be accessed below.
Enjoy the Labor Day holiday, stay safe, and please let us know if the university can assist you in any way in the wake of this disaster.
