NSU Letters from Home invites parents, family members, and friends of on-campus residents to write a letter to their Northwestern State University student through our online submission form. From there, we format the letter, print it, and deliver it to your student during the first two weeks of school, which is typically one of the most challenging times during the college transition. We want to make it easier for everyone!
Letters should be encouraging, uplifting, and filled with pride! This is a great opportunity to share all of the things you want to say on move-in day, but might not be able to emotionally handle.
If you have any questions, please contact the First Year Experience and Leadership Development Office at (318) 357-5559 or email us at fye@nsula.edu.
In order to get the letter to your on-campus student, we will need the following information:

Jane Doe
University Place 2
Room Number 1234Dear Jane,
People always say that the time you spend at college is the time of your life. I so hope that’s true and you are enjoying the first few weeks at Northwestern State University!
Throughout your first year in college, you will learn a lot. You’ll learn that you have a strong support system – at home and at school. Use them both! You’ll learn that college is filled with new adventures, new friends, and memories waiting to be made. Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. Stay strong, go to class, meet new people, and have fun!
We miss you already and cannot wait to see you during fall break! Send us a note, give us a call, or share a picture! We would love that. Always know that you are loved and we are here for you. Good luck and Fork ’em Demons!
Love,
Dad
