ECE is issuing digital badges in place of certificates! You will be able to access all of your credentials on Credly, and share them to almost any social media site or portfolio. No more papers, binders, or folders! These badges will be distributed via Credly, and detailed instructions for claiming credentials will be given to workshop participants starting in October. What’s New in Moodle 3
Monday, January 8th, 1 – 2 pm
Northwestern State University is migrating to a new version of Moodle. This presentation will go over key changes in the newest version of Moodle. Topics includes changes in Assignments, Forums, Quizzes, and the Gradebook.

Office Mix
Wednesday, January 24th, 2 – 3 pm
Would you like an easy (and free) tool to make your lecture presentations more engaging to your students? Office Mix is a PowerPoint add-in that allows you to add video and interactive content, such as quiz questions or web sites, to any PowerPoint. In this workshop, we will demonstrate the features of Office Mix.

Finding & Creating Educational Video
Tuesday, January 9th, 2 – 3 pm
In this workshop, we will present best practices for choosing and creating video resources and implementing them in your course. We will also cover how to ensure that your video content is ADA compliant.

WebEx Training Center
Wednesday, January 10th, 2 – 3 pm
Learn the basics of participating and hosting a WebEx training session for class meetings. We will also cover how to schedule a training session, and where to access the reports generated by WebEx.

Moodle Basics
Thursday, January 11th, 10 – 11 am
In this workshop, we will cover the breadth of available options within the LMS and demonstrate the basic tools needed for implementing a Moodle course.

WebEx Personal Room
Thursday, January 11th, 2 – 3 pm
Your WebEx Personal Room is a valuable tool for engaging with online students. In this workshop, we will cover how to open and run your personal room both as a one-on-one meeting option as well as an open office for online classes. We will also be highlighting some unique features of the room that are different from the standard training sessions.

Creating Quizzes in Moodle
Wednesday, January 24th, 10 – 11 am
This workshop will demonstrate how to create quizzes using the features within Moodle 3.

New!! Adobe Acrobat Basics
Thursday, January 25th, 2 – 3 pm
PDF files are very common, and Adobe Acrobat is the program most commonly used to process these files. In this workshop, we will cover basic navigation, tools and accessibility within Adobe Acrobat.

Managing Your Gradebook
Tuesday, January 30th, 10 – 11 am
This workshop will cover the tools and techniques to maintain your Gradebook in Moodle 3 effectively.

New!! Alignment in the Online Course
Wednesday, January 31st, 2 – 3 pm
What does it mean for objectives, materials, activities, and assessments to be aligned within an online course? We will present a method for evaluating your course to ensure that all of the elements fit together. Attendees will be required to submit one alignment document analyzing one of their courses after participating in the workshop.

  3. Click on the “Upcoming” tab
  4. You will see a list of the sessions with the date and times, click on “Register” next to the one you would like to attend
  5. Complete the registration
