NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University will recognize 100 individuals who made significant contributions to fraternity and sorority life at the university over the last century as the university hosts the Greek Centennial Celebration this weekend.

Individuals will be honored during a champagne toast at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at the Natchitoches Events Center.  Individuals and their respective Greek organizations are as follows.

NSU’s Greek Centennial Celebration, originally scheduled for 2020, was postponed during the CODIV-19 pandemic.  The event will kick off Friday, April 8 in conjunction with Flavor of Louisiana, NSU’s spring fund raiser.  Greek organizations will have booths at the event to raise money for their individual chapters. Flavor of Louisiana will begin at 6 p.m. in Prather Coliseum.  Tickets and information are available at www.northwesternstatealumni.com.

The Greek Centennial Celebration will continue Saturday, April 9 with chapter meetings in the morning, the champagne toast at 1:30 p.m. and the Greek Riverbank Festival from 4-6 p.m. in downtown Natchitoches.  The Golden Explosion step show competition will begin at 4:06 p.m. at the Natchitoches Events Center.  Doors open at 3:06 p.m.

Decade parties will begin at 6 p.m. with restaurants throughout downtown Natchitoches hosting groups from the decades in which they attended NSU.
