NATCHITOCHES – Dr. Katrina Woolsey Jordan, director of the Northwestern State University School of Education, was chosen to serve as the secretary for the Louisiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (LACTE). She will serve a two-year term.

Jordan has worked in the field of education for almost 30 years. During that time, she has served as a teacher, choir director, Gifted and Talented (G/T) coordinator, technology coordinator, librarian and cheer coach in PK-12 schools. Additionally, she has worked at three universities and has served as an assessment coordinator at Grambling State University and NSU. She was named director of the NSU School of Education in 2016.

“It is both humbling and inspiring to be chosen by my peers and colleagues across the state as the secretary for this well-respected organization. In addition to working closely with other universities in all university systems in the State of Louisiana, our group works closely with the groups that impact education in the state including BESE, Board of Regents and the Louisiana Department of Education. I hope to assist this group in continuing their important work of advocating for education and educators in the state,” Jordan said.
