Moodle Basics
Tuesday, September 5th, 10 – 11:30 am
In this workshop, we will cover the breadth of available options within the LMS and demonstrate the basic tools needed for implementing a Moodle course.

Video Best Practices
Wednesday, September 6th, 2 – 3 pm
This workshop will provide an introduction to creating video content for your courses, including best practices for getting started. We will also cover using VIC (Video Integrated Content) to connect these videos with your Moodle shells. VIC is a library that holds all of your videos in one easy-to-use place. If you want to enrich your classes with videos, this workshop is for you!

Thursday, September 7th, 10 – 11:30 am
This workshop will demonstrate how to create quizzes using the features within Moodle 2.5.

Moodle to the Max
Tuesday, September 12th, 10 – 11 am
Wednesday, September 27th, 10 – 11:00 am

This workshop will demonstrate how to create quizzes using the new features within Moodle 2.5. Want to take your online class to the next level? Join us as we provide tips and tricks that will enhance your Moodle experience. Go beyond the basics of what you know about Moodle. From reporting to media enhancements to specific tools to manage your class efficiently, this course is all about the options that will make you a better online instructor.

Office Mix
Wednesday, September 13th, 2 – 3 pm
Tuesday, September 19th, 2 – 3 pm

Would you like an easy (and free) tool to make your lecture presentations more engaging to your students?  Office Mix is a PowerPoint add-in that allows you to add video and interactive content, such as quiz questions or web sites, to any PowerPoint.  In this workshop, we will demonstrate the features of Office Mix.

Excel Basics
Thursday, September 14th, 10 – 11:30 am
This workshop is an introduction to Excel components. Learn about creating and navigating worksheets, entering text, dates and numbers, selecting cells, entering formulas, and much more.

Word Styles
Thursday, September 14th, 2 – 3 pm
Microsoft Word styles enable you to easily format your documents. Icons denote Title, Heading, and Body fonts, colors and sizes. Using Styles will produce a document that aligns with ADA, making it easy for all learners to absorb the information. Change the look of your documents or add a table of contents with just a few clicks.

WebEx Personal Room
Thursday, September 21st, 2 – 3 pm
Your WebEx Personal Room is a valuable tool for engaging with online students. In this workshop, we will cover how to open and run your personal room both as a one-on-one meeting option as well as an open office for online classes. We will also be highlighting some new and unique features of the room that are different from the standard training sessions.

WebEx Basics & Scheduling
Tuesday, September 26th, 2 – 3:30 pm
We have combined the basics of WebEx with the scheduling of WebEx sessions into one training. Learn the basics of participating in a WebEx session and what it takes to host training of your own. We will then go over how to schedule a training sessions and accessing the reports generated by WebEx.

To register for courses via WebEx:

  1. Go to nsula.webex.com
  2. Click on “Training Center”
  3. Click on the “Upcoming” tab
  4. You will see a list of the sessions with the date and times, click on “Register” next to the one you would like to attend
  5. Complete the registration

You will receive an email confirmation after you have registered with the link you will use to join the session. To cancel your registration, click the link at the bottom of the registration email.
