Economic Development, Innovation, and Outreach

The Executive Director for Economic Development, Innovation, and Outreach serves as the key administrator in the development and continuance of business and industrial partnerships that will enhance economic development in the region, the state, and the country. In addition the Executive Director is responsible for the operation of the departments of Student Technology, Electronic and Continuing Education, NSU@Barksdale, NSU@Marksville, NSU@BPCC, and the CENLA and Leesville/Ft. Johnson campuses.

Northwestern State University’s Office of Economic Development, Innovation, and Outreach is comprised of Student Technology, Electronic and Continuing Education, NSU@Barksdale, NSU@Marksville, NSU@BPCC, and the CENLA and Leesville/Ft. Johnson campuses. We think of education, innovation, and technology more broadly and from a variety of perspectives so that more people can benefit and have a greater quality of life.

Our goal is to stimulate innovation and the creation of intellectual property in support of the University’s mission: to be a responsive, student-oriented institution that is committed to the creation, dissemination, and acquisition of knowledge through teaching, research, and service. We consider Northwestern State University to be a state resource and an engine for economic growth and possibility.
