NATCHITOCHES – Matthew Nelson of Natchitoches and Tori Spraggins of Bossier City have been named king and queen of the 2020 Homecoming Honor Court at Northwestern State University.
The 22-member Honor Court also includes Caleb Allen of Plaisance, Tarik Andrus of Washington, Ryann Bizette of New Roads, Katie Briggs, Nicholas Hopkins and Peyton Harville of Bossier City, Luther Brooks of Lafayette, Kyler Lee Burns of Haughton, Colton Campbell of Coushatta, Elizabeth Marie Coleman of Napoleonville, Blaise Crochet of Pierre Part, Sheridan Duet of Thibodaux, Alphonse Engram of DeRidder, Madeline Grace Hensley of Anacoco, Katie Kennedy of Central City, Nicholas Parham of Frierson, Mary Scott Pourciau of Baton Rouge, Terran Turner and Destiney Williams of Shreveport and Sarah Sargent of Lake Charles.
Nelson, a junior accounting major, is the son of Wilbert and Candi Nelson. He is a Freshmen Connection orientation leader and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity inc., the Presidential Leadership Program, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Spraggins is a senior biology major and the daughter of Robert and Anne Spraggins. Her campus activities include serving as Student Government Association external affairs commissioner and secretary, several leadership positions within Phi Mu Fraternity, Demon Days coordinator, Demon VIP, 2018 and 2019 Freshman Connection orientation leader. Spraggins has been a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, President’s Leadership Program Alumna and Mentor, 2019 Student Life N-Sider, Leadership NSU Committee, 2019 Gamma Chi and 2017 Purple Pizzazz Pom Line Member.
Engram is the son of Pam Breaud and is a senior dance major. He a member of Pi Kappa Phi, Dance Organization of Students, African American Caucus, Demon VIP, the Demon Dazzler Danceline, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Student Government Association and the NSU Dance Company.
Crochet is the son of Tessa and Slader Crochet. He is a junior radiologic sciences major. Crochet is a member of the Student Government Association, Demon VIP, President Leadership Program and Pi Kappa Alpha.
Allen is the son of Danielle Celestine and Terry Allen. He is a junior industrial engineering technology major. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Lifted Voices Gospel Choir, African American Caucus, A Million Records of NSU and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society
Campbell is the son of Timothy and Jackie Campbell. He is a senior business administration major. Campbell is a 2020 Freshman Connector, 2020 Social Media Ambassador, Senator of the Student Government Association, a member of the University Programming Council, President of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and was selected to the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society.
Williams is the daughter of Tamiko Adger and the late Eddie Williams. She is a senior social work major. Williams is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
Coleman is the daughter of Kevin Coleman and Rosa Coleman. She is a senior hospitality management and tourism major. Coleman is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Blue Key Honor Society, Catholic Students Organization, Order of Omega Honor Society, Presidential Ambassadors, Purple Jackets Honor Society, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and the Student Government Association.
Biggs is the daughter of Shelli and Lonnie Ligon and Thomas and Debi Briggs. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, the College Panhellenic Council Executive Committee, Demon VIP, President Leadership Program and Phi Mu Fraternity.
Kennedy is the daughter of John and Rhondi Kennedy. She is a junior criminal justice major. Kennedy is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and was a Freshman Connection orientation leader. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, the Demon Days Committee, Purple Jackets and the NSU Supreme Court.
Burns is the son of Lindsay and Jason Burns. He is a junior business administration major. Burns is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, Presidential Ambassadors and was a Freshmen Connection orientation leader. He is a member of Demon VIP, the Demon Days committee, Catholic Student Organization and the Order of Omega.
Brooks is the son of Kassandra and Luther Brooks. He is a senior dance major. Brooks is a member of the NSU Dance Company, NSU Choirs, and has been in numerous theatre productions. He is stroll master for the Theta Chi chapter and is assistant district director for the state of Louisiana and an election board member for the region. He is a member of the Student Government Association, Student Theatre Organization, Dance Organization of Students, The National Society of Leadership and Success and the African American Caucus.
Hensley is the daughter of Amy Haymon and Robert Howard. She is a junior communications major. She Hensley was in the Presidential Leadership Program in 2018-2019 and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta First Year Honor Society, Demon VIPs, First Year Experience, Gamma Omicron Phi, the Catholic Student Organization and Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.
Pourciau is the daughter of Jacques and Anne Scott Pourciau. She is a junior dance major. Pourciau is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, the University Programming Council, N-Siders, Alpha Lambda Delta, National Society for Leadership and Success, Student Theatre Organization, Dance Organization of Students and the NSU Dance Company.
Hopkins is the son of Kevin and Donna Hopkins. He is a senior business administration major. Hopkins is president of the Student Government Association, former speaker of the senate for SGA, new member educator for Pi Kappa Alpha, 2 time freshman connector, interim president of Order of Omega, former president of Alpha Lambda Delta, former President’s Leadership Program Mentor, member of the Catholic Student Organization, former Demon Days Event Chairman, and a five-year junior counselor with the Louisiana Boys State Program.
Parham is the son of Cheryl Parham. He is a senior psychology major. Parham is a member of Blue Key National Honor Society and Psi Chi.
Harville is the daughter of Jan and Richard Harville. She is a junior hospitality management and tourism major. She was a 2020 Freshman Connection orientation leader and is co-captain of Purple Pizzazz Pom Pon Line. Harville is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, an SGA senator and member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Bizette is the daughter of Patrick and Jody Bizette. She is a senior biology major. Bizette is vice president of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, President of Purple Jackets Honor Society and an event coordinator for the University Programming Council. She is a member of Tri Beta and Alpha Lambda Delta.
Sargent is the daughter of Donna and David Sargent. She is a junior biology major. Sargent is president of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, Demon Volunteer in Progress and is a Presidential Leadership Program mentor.
Duet is the daughter of Dayna and Kenneth Duet. She is a junior hospitality management and tourism major. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and is President’s Leadership Program alumna and mentor. Duet is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Baptist Collegiate Ministry, Demon VIP and is the NSU Food Pantry student coordinator.
Andrus is the son of Nichole Brown. He is a junior secondary education major. Andrus is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi and a member of the University Programming Council. He was a 2018 Freshman Connector orientation leader and participate in Leadership NSU.
Turner is the son of Debra Banks and Terry Johnson. He is a senior general studies major. Turner is a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.
