NATCHITOCHES – Bassonist Janelle Ott will present a concert at Northwestern State University on Monday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. A livestream will be available at capa.nsula.edu/livestream.

She will perform works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Isang Yun, Malcolm Arnold and Amber Ferenz.

Ott serves as an adjunct faculty member at Angelo State University, Abilene Christian University, and McMurry University. In addition to her college teaching, Ott maintains a private double reeds studio and online reed making business. She maintains an active free-lance career throughout Texas. Recent engagements include the Texarkana Symphony, San Angelo Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic, Marshall Symphony and Sherman Symphony. She is a member of Key City Winds of Abilene and the Mesquite Trio of San Angelo.

Ott holds received her Doctor of Musical Arts at University of North Texas, a Performer Diploma at Indiana University, a Master of Music at Wichita State University, and dual Bachelor degrees in Music Performance and German from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Her principal teachers are Kathleen Reynolds, William Ludwig and Nicolasa Kuster.
