NATCHITOCHES – An online Mentor Teacher Training Program will be offered through Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic and Continuing Education and the NSU School of Education starting Aug. 17.

The program consists of two courses, one offered in the fall and one offered in the spring, and when combined are the equivalent of the requirement for the mentor teacher professional development program.  These courses will focus on providing for the Elementary, Secondary ELA, and Secondary Math Mentor Teacher distinction. The courses will be offered on a traditional semester basis enrolling new cohorts each term. Courses will be taught by a current practitioner who has earned the state mentor credential.

The course is designed to prepare participants for the Bloomboard Assessments.
