NATCHITOCHES – A salsa dancing class will be presented by Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic and Continuing Education starting Monday, Sept. 18. The class will be held each Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Room 127 of the Health and Human Performance Building. The fee is $55.

Salsa, meaning sauce, conveys feelings of spicing things up and enlivening the moment. Dancing is an exercise that engages the entire body as well as the mind. Learning and remembering choreography keeps your brain active while constant movement addresses your heart, circulation, balance, muscles and joints.  Designed for both men and women, this class will spice up your one-hour- long workout. The class will cover basic salsa steps that will be put together in a routine and practiced repeatedly at the end of the class. Also, some bachata movements will be taught and practiced. No dance experience is needed. The attire is casual clothes and soft soled shoes are required.
