NSU@Barksdale

Serving Those Who Serve

In 2009, Northwestern State University established a formal partnership with Barksdale Air Force Base to expand educational access for the military community and surrounding parishes. Since its founding, the NSU at Barksdale site has supported active-duty service members, military dependents, and veterans, in achieving their academic and career goals.

Today, the NSU Barksdale site is located on the 3rd floor of the Base’s Education Center and proudly serves Bossier, Caddo, and Webster parishes, in addition to the greater Barksdale AFB military community. The site continues to provide a wide range of student-focused resources, blending academic flexibility with strong military and veteran support services. Whether pursuing general education courses, transferring Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) credits, or completing a degree online, NSU at Barksdale remains committed to accessible, quality education.
