ACT Boot Camp set for Feb. 24-25

Parker awarded Phi Beta Delta Scholarship

NATCHITOCHES – Annabelle Parker of Shreveport has been named as the first recipient of the Phi Beta Delta Scholarship Award. The scholarship was presented by Northwestern State University’s Eta Mu Chapter of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars.

Cane River Reading Series continues Feb. 20

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University will present the February Cane River Reading Series featuring Katherine Perkins, co-author of nine novels, including the “Fair Folk Chronicles” and the “Gothcraft” trilogy.  Perkins has published 15 short stories, mostly through Writerpunk Press charity anthologies.

School of Education earns high marks from NCTQ

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s School of Education earned an A in early reading standards in a study completed by the National Council on Teacher Quality.  NCTQ released scores Jan. 27 for the 2020 Teacher Prep Review after researching teacher preparation programs that provide elementary teacher candidates with skills in teaching children to read.
